Question 1

How do I start preparing for the GMAT?

Accepted Answer

Start by understanding the GMAT Focus format across Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights, research target scores, and take a diagnostic mock to find weak areas. Commit to a consistent weekly schedule, use official GMAC materials, practice under timed conditions, and review mistakes with error logs and revision cards. See GMAT Panda's full prep guide for the step-by-step plan. Graeme O'Connor, founder of GMAT Panda, co-authored a step-by-step getting started guide on GMAC.com.

Question 2

How do I start preparing for GMAT Quant?

Accepted Answer

Plan study hours (often 100–300 total), refresh math basics if needed, learn GMAT-specific tactics, then spend most of your time on timed Quant practice at exam intensity, with flashcards and a few full mocks. See GMAT Panda's full prep guide for the step-by-step plan. Graeme O'Connor, founder of GMAT Panda, also wrote on getting started with GMAT Quant on MBA.com.

Question 3

What maths do I need for GMAT Quant?

Accepted Answer

GMAT Quant tests arithmetic, algebra, word problems, number properties, and basic statistics. Advanced calculus or trigonometry is not required. Review core foundations, then spend most of your time on translation and timed practice.

Question 4

How long does it take to improve GMAT Quant?

Accepted Answer

Most students see meaningful improvement over several weeks of consistent practice, not a few days. Progress depends on your starting level, study hours per week, and how systematically you review mistakes with flashcards and timed drills.

Question 5

What is GMAT Panda?

Accepted Answer

GMAT Panda is GMAT prep software that teaches you to reason through unfamiliar questions from first principles. You get Duolingo-style learning paths, theory integrated into practice, and feedback on your approach when you work problems, not just the correct answer.

Question 6

How is GMAT Panda different from Target Test Prep?

Accepted Answer

Target Test Prep is built around comprehensiveness: thousands of hours of instructional video and a very large question bank. You work through generic solutions tied to question types you have already seen. On test day, questions are rarely identical to what you drilled, so that approach helps less than learning how to reason through the question in front of you. GMAT Panda offers a shorter, more focused path with feedback on how you approached a problem, not just whether you got it right. If you have found TTP's curriculum overwhelming or hard to finish, GMAT Panda is designed as a faster, more active alternative.

Question 7

How does GMAT Panda help with GMAT preparation?

Accepted Answer

It builds a personalized study path around your weaknesses, focuses your time on what you still need, and emphasizes reasoning and method. Instead of aiming to have seen every question type before test day, it trains you to read for clues, choose a sound approach, and review mistakes with targeted follow-up practice and flashcards.

Question 8

Is GMAT Panda good for people who have not studied math in years?

Accepted Answer

Yes, GMAT Panda was specifically designed with this in mind. Many courses expect you to absorb hundreds of hours of video and reuse generic solution templates. That is harder if you have been away from math for years, and it helps less on exam day when the question does not match what you memorized. GMAT Panda teaches you how to identify clues in any question and reason through it from first principles, a skill that does not depend on how recently you studied math. The Duolingo-style learning paths also mean you build confidence gradually through short daily sessions, rather than being thrown into full mock exams before you are ready.

Question 9

How long does it take to complete GMAT Panda's curriculum compared to other courses?

Accepted Answer

Where courses like Target Test Prep can involve 300-500+ hours of material, GMAT Panda's curriculum is designed to be completed in significantly less time, because it adapts to what you specifically need to work on rather than requiring you to cover everything. You spend time on your weaknesses, not topics you have already mastered. For test-takers with a deadline or limited study hours, this makes a meaningful difference.

Question 10

What makes GMAT Panda's approach different from video-based courses?

Accepted Answer

Video-based GMAT courses are built around passive learning: you watch an explanation, try to absorb it, and hope a similar question appears on test day. The worked solution is often generic and may not transfer when the wording or setup is different. GMAT Panda integrates theory directly into practice from the start, so you are actively applying concepts rather than watching them being explained. When you get something wrong, GMAT Panda gives you feedback on your reasoning and method, not just the correct answer.

Question 11

Does GMAT Panda adapt to my specific weaknesses?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and in a more meaningful way than most platforms. Most adaptive GMAT tools track which question types you get wrong and route you to more of the same. GMAT Panda goes further, it analyzes how you approached a problem, identifying flawed reasoning, missed shortcuts, or calculation errors, and generates new practice material based on the specific gaps in your understanding, not just your answer history. It also creates custom flashcards from your individual mistakes, so your review material is built from your errors, not a generic question bank.
